Treatment for 'The Noise'

This was create and write between joe smith and angela as the Director and the Editor, more about the story and how we finally get the name of the sequences and the story scprit.

Our opening sequence features a teenage girl, reading in the living room of her home on her own. All of a sudden, the phone rings and when she answers, all she can hear is white noise. Thinking nothing of it, she goes back to resume her reading. But as she sits down, the phone rings again. All she can hear again is white noise. Feeling more confused, she walks away. The phone rings again, much quicker this time causing her to get agitated and unplug the phone.

Thinking that she will no longer be bothered, she walks away when suddenly the lights turn off. She eventually finds the light switch and turns them back on. She finally returns to the living and she discovers the book that she was reading minutes ago has been ripped to pieces with the pages scattered over the floor. With the knowledge that someone or something has been in the room she backs away in fear. As she backs away, she bumps into a mysterious figure who's identity is not revealed. She screams in fear and the scene cuts to black.

The enigma of this film is that the audience do not know who the figure in the house is. Is the figure an invader or a stalker or is it a paranormal entity? What is the reason behind the mysterious phonecalls? What happens to the girl? Is she killed? These questions would hopefully keep the audience curious to find out what happens.

DRAFT OF SCRIPT

We  have decided to call our film "The Noise" for the time being. This may or may not change depending on whether we think of a better name. As this is a rough draft, we are unsure on certain aspects (these aspects are the ones which appear in red text) and we shall discuss as a group how we want the final result to be

EXT. HOUSE

Isolated, quiet at night time

INT. LIVING ROOM (or BEDROOM)

LUCY is sitting (or laying) on sofa (or bed if in bedroom) reading a book. All of a sudden a phone rings. LUCY puts book to one side and gets up

INT. (WHEREVER PHONE IS)

LUCY walks up to the phone and picks it up

LUCY

Hello?

(White noise can be heard from the phone)

Hello? (Waits 2 or 3 seconds) Hello? (Puts phone down)

INT. LIVING ROOM (or BEDROOM)

LUCY sits (or lays) back down and starts to read again. The phone can be heard again. LUCY sighs and gets back up

INT. (WHEREVER PHONE IS)

LUCY picks up the phone

LUCY

Hello?

(White noise can be heard again)

(Slightly annoyed) Hello? I can’t hear you

LUCY puts the phone down again. As she is just leaving the room the phone rings yet again. LUCY looks around looking more irritated. She walks up to the phone

LUCY
Hello? (agitated)

LUCY sighs at the sound of white noise and then puts the phone down and unplugs it. As LUCY walks away, all of the lights briefly turn off. After some shuffling around, the lights come back on.

INT. LIVING ROOM (OR BEDROOM)

LUCY enters the room and then freezes on the spot as she notices that the pages of her book have been torn out and scattered over the floor.

This is as much as we have developed our script so far. We are going to make regular alterations as we decide how to end the sequence.

Preliminary Task

The preliminary task is part of the course work that carried marks on it own. and this help us to know more about the soft ware and the camera and the position also the shot.. examples of the shot in the task 180 degree rule, shot reverse shot. i was the camera man , while Joe and Angela was in the scene as the cast .. and to make this we use final cut pro on the mac by doing the edit of the scene and to it together. And we also learn how we use final cut to edit films. This preliminary task really help a lot.

IDEAS OF THE FILM (OPENING SEQUENCE)

We got the idea of our opening scene from the film called SCREAM. this film was an horror film ..
it all about the killing and who is their to save .

the film film is all about a girl in her house , when the phone ring. she pick it up and say hello . but she didnt know who is calling her , and how the person know all what she was about to do and doing .. (pop corn) on the fire  and want to watch an horror movie. This look so scary to her. A strange person, calling @ late in night with a strange voice.
This movie is among the best opening sequneces. because she was killed and nobody know who kill him and what happened why the girl was killed. anad no one to save her untill she was killed. This opening sequences really atrract the audeinces and wish to know what happened ??

This short of opening sequences will love to build our own idea on it and work on it ...

RISK ASSEMENT AND PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

Risk assement - we have to take everything serious and have to cover every risk and challanges towards the production. firstly we have to create time for us to meet for the film and the task behind us.
most of my group memeber ar always busy , and we have dates for the production .. dead line for the sequences.
 Production schedule- we have plan on time and day , me and my group have to meet for the filmimg and others things will need to do before the time run out of us.

20.30 - finish shooting for the day.

all film have their codes and convention.
Horror movie all what you can find in it scary, killing of blood,creepy. all this make it to turn to a horror movie with different titles. It always on who are to be killed and who will killed them. and who will save them.

Audiences Research

The time it comes to audience research.. me and my group member we have to go on and get the equipment for the research eg the place or location we going to used, the camera and the people as the audiences we asking question from.

Our film genre in on horror film.and this make us to ask people different types of question on horror movie and there views towards it..

First question- How old are you??
most people , I mean the audiences tell us their real age , while some didnt. and also some are camera shy .. running away from the camera.

Second question is -What type of horror movie you like?
most of our audiences choose horror film and name time of horror they like , examples ZOMBIE, VAMPIRE, MONSTERS AND SCIENCE FICTION.

Third question is -What is your favourite horror movie and why?
These question really make people to think , because alot of horror movie and most of all the horror movie are like and love to watch again.

Last question is -What does you think is good for a opening sequences?
Moat people didnt know what choose on this one.. but the research really go on fine and we end it well.

There are many types of horror movie. Such as SAW, JAW, DAWN OF DEAD. These this horror movie as different type of the genre and codes.. we have so many type of horror movie . examples ZOMBIE, VAMPIRE, MONSTER AND SCIENCE FICTION. Above , there are many types of horror movie and how they are rates by genre, all this horror movie comes out different year and different time.
Audiences are different taste of there horror movie, like some didnt like horror movie and some audience love to watch horror movie.

Saw1 was produced by Burg/Koules/Koffman, and is an horror movie.It was filmed by James Wan and was presented by a production company calles "Twisted Pictures".

After the titles, the movie starts with a black screen and suddenly a white light appears from the top of the screen and moves all the way down to the bottom and then disappears. After that the screen turns black again and this makes the audiences want to know what is taking place for they are unsure of what will come next. While the black screen was there, the title of the movie faded in from the black background and then it just started to blur until it diappers back into the background.

Suddenly a man faces comes out from the water, this looks scary to the audience ,Because it happened suddenly without any notice of such thing to happen, the character started coughing while touched with light but suddenly the light fades. The screen went black and something droped into the pipe with the white light and everything turns black for more than 3 minutes. The men who appered in water started coughing while there was black background and this create suspence to the audience, for they are not sure what they will see when light comes back (probably he will be dead or he will change into a ghost).The shouting of the charater and the black screen make it to look scary to the audiences. The voice that comes up saying "some one help me" and the reply is some one there? makes the audience know that there are two characters talking in the scene.


suddenly another deep voice came out from no where.. and this make the character asking "who is that??" because we cam see in the character voice that he didnt expect to be there and he was shock with a high breathing telling the un seen man to turn on the light. everything is till black and the audiece will love to know who is talking , what is happening in the scene. and why is the light off?. all this three things will be know if tyhe character continue with the film still the end. Becasue this is just an opening sequence. After the first character asking who is that? saying to the un seen man saying what is that smell? this make the audiences worried again , because the whta is making the charcter to smell can't be seen. immiedately the light turp up in a high voltage, that make the everything be seen in the scene and the character talking.

The light that comes up make the character to seen wht is around him as the camera show the light and how bright it is, because this affect the charcater not to see well i n the first place, because he as been in the darkness. the character open his eyes and saw another character and still sound make so heavly that the camera was on a tracking shot towards the audience washocked in the first place no light and when light comes in , the camera was on tracking shot towards the dead human smelling. the character was coming towards the dead human on the floor but he can't because he as been chained.This scene was set in an open wide wash room , stain with blood.
